2019 Review and 2020 Plans

Writing this mid January 2020….where did 2019 go???

Over 650 days high season days successfully rented and serviced within the vacation rental business. 2019, another record year.

All current long-term properties occupied with new available locations coming on stream before Spring 2020.

Currently Coastline Rentals supports 15 individual homes within our weekly home watch business, excluding our obligations to the Lunenburg County Condo Association (#19) at Deep Cove, covering a further 18 homes plus utility management.

Our newest (2019) business venture has been created around Project Management. Here we manage large scale ($30K value minimum) renovation to existing properties, either internal or external, on behalf of absent owners. Our clients will use our services here to carefully manage their desired projects from design through to build and completion within agreed budgets and conditions as stipulated by our third-party contractor agreements.

We have successfully completed six contracts to date, within budget, with a further four projects currently ongoing.

Personal changes are also ongoing with the business. We sold our place in Northwest Cove and our currently building a ‘forever home’ oceanfront close by on the Apoptogen Peninsula. House should be ready late Spring; therefore the family is currently residing in Chester Village in one of my long-term rentals…a converted church no less!

I intend to eventually blog the whole new build process from land purchase through to design, sourcing contractors, procurement of materials, project management, required permits, legislation and technicalities through to completion and hand over. The purpose here is to provide readers with information and guidance should they wish to undertake a similar process.

Will keep you posted on the above….now looking to ensure in 2020 we continue to enjoy our Nova Scotia adventure by moving all elements of the business onwards and upwards.
