Custom built, architect-designed, open concept house and separate country-style cottage, Swallow Point Retreat sits high among trees, overlooking the ocean on three sides and has its own private beach and dock.

This property is available for vacation rental as either house only, or house with cottage.

The house features soaring ceilings and walls of glass windows that let in lots of natural light and make the most of its woodland and waterside setting. This unique architecture gives a unique two storey floorplan for living and sleeping.

The main family room is open to the second floor and has a seating area with woodburning fireplace, as well as a raised area with doors leading out onto an expansive deck overlooking the water. This room also features two loft sleeping areas suitable for older children, one on each side of the room, accessed by ladders and with open sides. Underneath each loft is a closet and desk area, which can be screened by drapes.

Also on the main floor are the kitchen with breakfast bar, dining room with wrap-around deck and full bathroom. There is a pull-down Murphy Bed in the dining room, which can be closed off for privacy.

The Master Bedroom suite is upstairs. Occupying all of the second level it is open to sound from the living rooms below but the Queen size bed and separate home office area cannot be seen.There is also a washroom with shower and laundry.

The two bed, one bath Cottage is situated a short distance from the main house. It has a living room with woodburning fireplace and dining table, small kitchen with breakfast bar, including convection microwave, two ceramic hotplates, fridge freezer drawer and washer /dryer.  Bedroom with Queen size bed; bedroom with bunkbeds and room for a cot. Bathroom with tub/shower combo.

The property is in extensive private grounds reached by a long driveway. Steps lead down to its own private sand beach and dock.

Rates and Pricing

House is available from August 24th through to October 31st 2019.

Rate is $1700.00 CD per week.

Use of cottage is additional $250.00 CD per week to the above stated rate.

Refundable Damage Deposit $500.00 CD.

Cleaning and laundry fee $190.00 CD.

Pets welcome at owners discretion. Pet Fee $120.00 CD.

Discount of 10% for stays longer than 28 days.

The Area

Swallow Point Retreat is located on the Lighthouse Route in the secluded community of Swallow Point, near the seaside village of Chester where amenities include shops, cafes and restaurants, seasonal Farmers Market and local artisans.

There is easy access to the Highway network and the sightseeing destinations of Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Peggy’s Cove. Halifax is under an hour’s drive.

The area is known for its outdoor activities including sailing, fishing, cycling and hiking, as well as its coastal beauty.

If you are coming off the 103, please take Exit 8 to Chester

Follow the road down to the junction. You will reach a STOP sign. Turn RIGHT at the junction (you will see a large garden nursery on the right).

You are now on Route. 3

Follow Route 3 about 4 kilometers, until you see Arthur Hatt Road on your LEFT .

Turn LEFT on to the gravel road. This is Arthur Hatt Road Road.

You will see Swallow Point Road Road on your RIGHT. Turn RIGHT here.

Go past the Skipper Hill development on your RIGHT.

The house and cottage are set back at the bottom of Swallow Point Road. You will see an ascending driveway in front of you with the house numbers (107 & 109) posted on a tree.

Drive up the gravel driveway to the front of both properties.
